Ex-Dictator Idi Amin Seeks Kidney
Thursday August 14, 2003
Idi Amin, the bloody dictator of Uganda from 1971 to 1979, has been in the hospital now for nearly a month. Though he awakened from a coma on July 23, he remains poor condition. Idi Amin is currently undergoing dialysis while waiting for someone to donate a kidney. Though two people have already come forward, they were rejected as incompatible matches. Since Idi Amin is responsible for the torture and murder of approximately 300,000 Ugandans, many question whether he should be eligible for a kidney transplant.
