Hong Kong Store Uses Nazi Images to Sell Shirts

Friday August 15, 2003
During the Third Reich, the Nazis very carefully chose emblems and images to portray their rule and their ideology. And the images of Adolf Hitler and the swastika in particular have come to symbolize evil and hatred and murder. So why is a Hong Kong fashion firm using these images to sell shirts? According to CNN, the designer was looking for a military theme and hadn't realized the strong feelings garnered by these images. Fourteen of the firm's stores are currently publicizing the shirts and pants by decorating their stores with Nazi banners and by showing Nazi propaganda films.
