New Memorial Being Constructed at the Belzec Death Camp

For decades, all that remained at the location of the Nazi's Belzec death camp were weeds and a small sculpture. Now a new memorial is being built. Visitors will walk on a flat plane of gravel then follow a path that descends downward until the visitors are 60 feet below the surface. There, they will find a wall of remembrance and names of individuals and communities that perished there.
