Tuesday March 9, 2004
On March 9, 1917, Mexican revolutionary leader Pancho Villa sent hundreds of his guerrilla soldiers over the Mexican border to attack the U.S. town of Columbus, New Mexico. U.S. President Woodrow Wilson ordered General John Pershing to lead an expeditionary force into Mexico to capture Pancho Villa dead or alive. They never caught him.
