Searching for Justice for the Murder of Emmett Till

Thursday March 25, 2004
In August 1955, 14-year old Emmett Till, who had traveled from Chicago to visit relatives in Money, Mississippi, was kidnapped and brutally murdered for allegedly whistling at a white woman. Though two white men were tried for the murder, an all-white jury quickly acquitted them. Recently, filmmaker Keith Beauchamp researched the murder to create the documentary, The Untold Story of Emmett Louis Till. Beauchamp discovered evidence that pointed to more men involved in the murder than just the two who were tried. Though the two men who were tried are now dead, others who might have been involved are still living. Federal prosecutors are examining the new information about the murder.
