Controversy Over Human Bones Found in Gallipoli
Sunday March 13, 2005
Recently the Turkish government has been attempting to widen the road out to the World War I battle site at Gallipoli. However, emotions have been running high since photographs began to circulate of a person holding a human bone while standing near the construction. Reports then began to circulate that the Turkish government was ignoring such finds, thus defiling the memory and resting place of thousands of World War I soldiers. However, after some research into the reports, it seems the bones supposedly found have been lost and have caused many to speculate that the photographs were intended to stir up controversy.
