Publisher Johnson Dies at 87

John H. Johnson, the founder and publisher of Ebony and Jet magazine, died on Monday at the age of 87. Johnson was an influential African-American leader who furthered civil rights and sparked controversy by publishing an open-coffin picture of Emmett Till in September 1955.
