High School Diplomas Finally Awarded to WWII Internees

Nearly sixty Japanese Americans interned in World War II-era concentration camps in the United States were awarded their high school diplomas in a ceremony in Los Angeles on Sunday, August 21. A new California law allows Japanese Americans to receive their diplomas from the high schools they had been attending prior to their internments. Since the law passed a year ago, over 400 people have received diplomas.
