U.S. President William McKinley Assassinated

At 4:07 p.m. on September 6, 1901, Leon Czolgosz shot U.S. President William McKinley twice. Although many expected the President to recover after having emergency surgery, President McKindley died at 2:15 a.m. on September 14, 1901 from gangrene.
