Merv Griffin Dies, Age 82

Merv Griffin started his entertainment career on the radio and then was the host of The Merv Griffin Show which aired from 1962 to 1986. A man of many talents, Griffin was the producer of two popular gameshows (Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune), owned a hotel, raised thoroughbred horses, and was also a singer. Merv Griffin died on August 12, 2007 from prostate cancer at age 82.

Not knowing him personally and only seeing him on television, I liked Merv Griffin. I loved his shows and that he knew what the public would like, my favorite show is Jeopardy, you actually have to think to play the game. He had a nice singing voice and personality and he struck me as being a fair man.
