New Sculpture at D-Day's Utah Beach
Wednesday March 12, 2008
Although there are other monuments along the Normandy beach, the first monument dedicated to the Navy's role in WWII's D-day will be unveiled on September 27, 2008. The sculpture, created by Stephen Spears, will be an eight-foot-high, bronze sculpture of three men (one Navy captain and two sailors) standing on a pedestal. The sculpture, which will also display the names of all Navy ships used during the D-day invasion, will rest on the ridge over Utah Beach.

There are no cliffs at Utah beach
there was no mention of a cliff in placing the monument, only to be placed on a ridge, a ridge is only a high place on the ground, quite a difference from a cliff. read dummy! I think any respect shown to the men and women of ww11 is a great thing, monument or other!
