Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn Has Died

Nobel Prize-winning author Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn has passed away at age 89. Solzhenitsyn wrote about the horrors of the Communist system in the Soviet Union, which led to his exile in 1974. After living in West Germany and the United States for many years, Solzhenitsyn was given back his Russian citizenship in 1990. Some of Solzhenitsyn's most famous books include One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich, The Gulag Archipelago, and First Circle. Solzhenitsyn died on Sunday, August 3, 2008 from a heart condition.
