New Holocaust Memorial Planned for Sinti and Roma (Gypsies)
Tuesday January 6, 2009
During the Holocaust, the Nazis targeted not only Jews for extermination, but also Sinti and Roma (Gypsies). A new memorial is planned to remember these victims. The memorial will be located in Berlin's Tiergarten park and will feature a fountain and a poem by Italian writer Santino Spinelli. The memorial is expected to be completed in 2009.
