Thirteen-year-old Leon Leyson from Krakow, Poland, was the youngest of over 1,000 Holocaust survivors on Schindler's List. Oskar Schindler managed to employ and protect Leyson, Leyson's parents, and two of Leyson's siblings; however, two of Leyson's brothers died in the Holocaust.

After the war, Leyson and the remaining members of his family moved to the United States in 1949. He married, had two children, and spent 39 years as a high school teacher in Los Angeles. Leon Leyson died at age 83 on Saturday, January 12, 2013 after suffering from lymphoma.
