Australia Buys Aboriginal History
Wednesday August 17, 2005
The Australian state of Western Australia has purchased a large collection of privately owned records of Aboriginal people in the area. The collection, which consists of 74,000 files and more than 7,000 photographs, was collected over 30 years by Aboriginal genealogist Jan Goodacre. The records will become a new resource for Aboriginal families in tracing their histories.
