A Road to be Built Over Recently Found WWI Trenches

World War I was infamous for the huge number of lives lost in muddy trenches. Recently, archaeologists discovered a relatively large area of well-preserved WWI trenches which have remained nearly untouched since the third Battle of Ypres. The trenches, though shallow, still have the duck boarding and some of the dugouts for living quarters. Already, the bodies of seven soldiers have been found as well as a large number of historical artifacts. After discovering this historical find, the Belgian authorities will have to reconsider whether to continue with their plan to build a roadway over this area.
