Dachau Picture: Death March From Dachau

A column of prisoners, being evacuated from the Dachau concentration camp, walk along Noerdlichen Muenchner Strasse in Gruenwald on a forced march to an unknown destination.

Pictured (fourth from the right) is Dimitry Gorky. Born on August 19, 1920 in Blagoslovskoe, Russia to a family of peasant farmers, (His father was executed as a Kulak.), Gorky was imprisoned in Dachau for 22 months. The reason for his imprisonment is not known. (April 29, 1945)
