Majdanek Concentration and Death Camp

Majdanek (KZ Lublin) was located in a suburb of Lublin, Poland, and was called the Majdan Tatarski camp (called Majdanek by Lublin residents). Originally, Majdanek was established as a prisoner-of-war camp, but it was later turned into both a concentration and death camp.

Communique of the Majdanek War Crimes Commission
Right after the liberation of Majdanek in 1944, a commission was established to investigate the crimes committed by the Germans at Majdanek. This report - which details the tortures, prisoners, extermination, cover-up, and plunder in the camp - is the culmination of their research.
