The 31st Academy Awards - 1958

The thirty-first Academy Awards ceremony was held on Monday, April 6, 1959 at the RKO Pantages Theatre. The responsibilities of host were shared by Bob Hope, Tony Randall, Mort Sahl, David Niven, Sir Laurence Olivier, and Jerry Lewis. Gigi broke the record shared by Gone With the Wind (1939), From Here to Eternity (1953), and On the Waterfront (1954) for most Oscars won by winning nine Oscars.
