The thirty-fifth Academy Awards ceremony was held on Monday, April 8, 1963 at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium. Frank Sinatra, the host for the evening, almost missed the ceremony. While rushing out of his house, running a little late, he forgot to bring along the sticker for his car that gave him admittance. Having to park the car himself, Sinatra barely made it in time for the show.
